Michelle Bauer is my favorite scream queen. When Bauer retired in 1995 several publications marked the event with special issues and goodies for die hard fans. These images are from an autographed card set released by Scream Queens Illustrated.

Lori was definitely in the some of the most fun slashers of the 80s. I recently interviewed her and during that time, I took a look back at her three big films and thought they deserved a nice little gallery! Enjoy!

As well as toys, the other thing we horror geeks refuse to give up are our comics. There’s something about seeing limbs hacked to pieces and intestines being spewed out onto the floor that makes for an entertaining read.

Most fans get into slasher films from a young age, and it was no surprise that studios and toy companies have exploited this over the last twenty-five years with countless attempts at shameless merchandise. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for it.

A knife-wielding cross-dresser… A killer who sports razor claws and a fedora… A sack-headed maniac prowling a deserted tourist spot… The murderous glare of a mysterious eyeball… These vintage villains from the 1920s to the 1950s prove that trends in slashing are as cyclical as fashion…

In between my regular doses of slashers, one movie which I couldn’t get enough of growing up was Heathers, Michael Lehmann’s 1988 black comedy that saw two outsiders taking revenge on the bullies of the high school by offing them and then making it look like a suicide.
