The thing I like is that as far as Zito and Savini are concerned Jason dies at the end of Part 4 and with the exception of Part 7 the other sequels: 5,6,8,9 & 10 were terrible. So I will agree with your review Christian (not that means anything as I actually agree most of the time) and call this a good flick. They should have ended it at this one though. Although, we can just ignore the other sequels and call this one the end. I am with you Joe and Tom! Zito and Savini together again made this into a worthwile picture. I love the whole series but I remember being scared sh*tless by parts 4 & 5 when I was a kid. Like many people I didn't actually see the original until I was too old to be genuinely traumatized by it, even though it's a slasher masterpiece. Still, for me The Final Chapter is the ultimate, essential Friday film. Nostalgia plays a big role with these movies. Hands down. It took the formula startd by the original Friday, Halloween and Black Sunday and melded them together into a truly horrifying slasher picture. Whereas Part 2 was a complete recyclying of the original Friday and Part 3 was created wholy as a gimmick to sell tickets, The Final Chapter showed that the people involved truly cared about creating something original in the Friday the 13th lore and made Jason and the hockey mask a staple in the horror and cinematic landscape forever.
