Very informative article on the most misunderstood film in the Halloween series. Hated it the first time I saw it many years ago due to its being Myers-less, but it’s grown on me a lot over the years, and I love the score.

i thought this movie was pretty good, despite many people not liking it due to myers not being in the story. i cant say im as big a fan as RHR, but this definetly isnt the worst entry in the series in my opinion either

I will argue this until the day I die…

Halloween III is “one” of the most underated and coolest horror films out there….period.

I agree that it should have never been called halloween III.
It should have just been called “Season of the witch”.
But get over that and you have yourself a little gem that has been waaaaaay overlooked.

To start off it has “atkins”. For those who have no clue who im talking about (and shame on you!) im talking about Tom atkins.
He is one of my fav actors and loved him in “The Fog” and “Night of the creeps”. He is great in this movie…and you never forget that final image of his face at the end of the film. He is very memorable and hey! He gets the young girl!

I want a silver shamrock shirt. I’ve always loved that damn logo.
I use the theme song as my phone greeting all through october.

So they take the theme song from london bridge is falling down and make it a “warning”, and for some strange reason it fucking works. I love it! Sure in the beginning its annoying…but notice how as the film progresses the song becomes forbidding and kinda creepy? Cool stuff…

I love the story.
I love Tom Atkins. (met him at a fangoria convention back in 99′ and had him sign my halloween III dvd cover)
I love the theme song.
I love the logo.
I love cochran.
I love the cheesy flashing pumpkin.
I love the narrator (Tommy Lee wallace by the way)-Watch the magic pumpkin! Waaaaatch….
I love the scene in the bar when the orginal halloween comes on and it’s brought to you by: enter silver shamrock theme song)
I love the fact that there is finally a website dedicated to JUST this film.

I agree with Alice, this movie kicks ass and is underrated. No Shape was almost like false advertisement for some, but they should just watch it again as “Season of the Witch” and give it another shot.

I am a part of the Halloween fanbase, probably the biggest Halloween/ Michael Myers fan you will find anywhere. However, I LOVED this film and have seen it dozens of times, just like the original. I get tired of wingeing fanboys who keep harping on about Myers not being in it. He’s in enough of the other crappy sequels, you can watch those instead. It also annoys me when people call this a flop, whixch it obviously wasn’t. Now……time for a 2 disc special edition with cast/crew interviews, deleted scenes!

Honestly, I enjoy this movie for the song, and for making up new lyrics to the song. Other than that, I’ve always seen it as a kind of WTF veer offtrack from the franchise a la NOES 2. I enjoyed your review for all the facts about the film.
