Why in the fuck does it matter how Jason got around between films, he fuckin walk to Manhattan mabye he walked back or took a god damn bicycle to hell. I stray away from the term horror FAN and think of myself as more of a horror connoisseur because all fans do is bash movies any way they can. stop look for reasons to hate and look for reasons to like a move.

Good point Walter not to mention that New Line’s Friday films were terrible anyway. Time line is an important part of the story and should not go unexplained. I am curious where they will take the direction of the new sequels. I am still on the fence about the remake but leaning towards not liking it as much as thought I did. It just failed to capture the ambiance of the Paramount films did. As far as what Paramount would have done with the series, my guess nothing. Part 8 tanked at the box office so I am guessing they would have left well enough alone. Jason Goes To Hell was by far the worst and most absurd of all the Friday films.

What i wanna know is how the hell did jason go from the sewers of manhattan back to crystal lake and then from hell, to hanging on a hook in a military base, this is what i never liked about the new line friday films, at least paramount always picked up where the previous left off, i have always been curious what paramount would of done for part 9 if new line didnt take over, even though new lines fridays are entertaining they dont make any sense and have no regard for the timeline, im really glad the series is starting over and i hope to see plenty of sequels in the future, i just hope that they try to be consistent with picking up where they leave off.

I’m not certain but I believe in the recent His Name Was Jason doc (possibly in the bonus materials) the screenwriter of this film intimated that he intended to explore the background of Jason’s father more fully, although not everything made it into the movie. I could be mistaken, but either way I don’t like the idea.

I’m a pretty forgiving Friday fan, and in fact deeply enjoy the majority of the series, but I could never warm to this entry. Fans dislike Part V because it doesn’t have Jason, even though barring a lame twist in the screenplay it really does feature “Jason” and otherwise delivers the expected thrills and kills that are the franchise’s bread and butter. But this film just doesn’t work for me, and I’m surprised (and delighted) that it didn’t kill off the series once and for all.

As a huge Friday fan, my main beef with this one (besides making Jason anything other than human) is Jason is hardly in it at all. The girl being cut in half with the fencepost is one of the best Friday kills ever, though.
