This project had Joe Spinell in a different
role, but another psycho killer with child abuse trauma. This
time he was a children's show host! It was possibly a homage
to the gritty 70's thriller The Psychopath. Some footage
was shot under Buddy Giovinazzo in 1989, but a combination of
lack of funds and the death of its star understandably put this
on the scrap heap. The footage appeared in a now out of print
DVD of Maniac, but has been unearthed and uploaded
to YouTube recently for all to see. In recent years, some
New York filmmakers attempted to start a sequel called Son
Of Maniac, but it was not connected to this attempt.
