The twist on the original’s killer revelation, for one, and then there’s the opening 15 minutes which play like a recap/continuation of a previous film (interestingly in both the original and remake, we never get Harry Warden as an all-encompassing franchise boogeyman, he’s a red herring).

It’s certainly an entertaining watch, but for me has no sense of reality — something the original has in spades (or maybe pickaxes).

They did a fun Q&A and I really, really liked them. They are funny and talented, but I didn’t care so much for the remake. I definitely don’t think it’s horrible, but it just didn’t grab me. I enjoyed bits of course, and my friends liked it quite a bit more than me. I missed the friendships and depresssed atmosphere of the original.

And yeah, it got the original released uncut, which makes it all worthwhile.

And it does have Tommy Atkins. But on DVD the terrible CGI lets it down.
My least favourite remakes are, the hitcher, sorority row, and TCM.
