Retro Slashers Content Migration

Just a quick note that the main site is down, and will be for the next week or two. Over the past year, this blog which was intended as A) a place to make easy updates and get material online faster and B) a place for discussion has grown too big for its britches, so with its healthy growth in recent times it became apparent it has outperformed the site, and is restricted by its status as a simple blog offshoot.

Hence we’re merging all site content into into the current platform – that’s why all that stuff is currently offline. The result will be one better than ever super-duper central place for all your retro and slasher needs. May take a while, but well worth the work on our end, and hopefully worth the wait on your end.

Thanks for your patience, and we’ll also be offering a brand new forum to take the edge off! If you have any suggestions for the site, do let us know!

  1. Hey, cool, I was getting tired of jumping between the blog, main site, and Myspace site. Will the reviews from all 3 sites be grouped into a single area? Seems logical since they all emanate from the same people behind the website. Best of luck with the reorganization, and keep up the great work on the site(s?!)

  2. Same question as Julian regarding reviews.

Being here as long as I have, seeing all of the changes take place, it sounds like you are taking steps in the right direction. I’ve enjoyed this site for so many years and hope it continues to move forward.

My suggestion would be to have an easy to navigate, central menu. Blog tags can be hit or miss.

  3. Dear Julian & the2ndsuitor, thanks for the feedback – yes. The blog and main site will become one infinite superbeing, and when all the site content is converted over, it will be availible in the black bar at the top of the page (to the left of the search bar).

Christian runs the MySpace so I’ll turn the table over to him about the content there.

  4. Hey everyone! First of all, thanks for the support you guys have been giving Retro Slashers’ MySpace page. In the last couple of months things have really taken off and the feedback has been tremendous.

Now down to business. Regarding the queries above, there has been some separation between this site and the MySpace page. There is no manjor reason for this, the folks that contribute regularly to this site seemed to have had all the bases covered so I felt publicising the page elsewhere and bringing slasher fans from MySpace would help bring the site to a larger audience. But we have taken your suggestions into account and as much as possible the articles that are posted on MySpace will also be included on here as well, though please still come and visit us on there as well.

If you have any suggestions or questions regarding any of this you can drop us a line on here or at MySpace and we’ll see what we can do. Thanks again for all the support and spread the word!

  5. I knew I saw a possible new forum mentioned somewhere! So, is this still planned or….
