I completely agree with robohooker(great nickname by the way)about watching the movie uncut. The original American release is missing almost half an hour. One of the best DVD purchases I ever made was the double feature of Deep Red and Tenebre. They are both uncut. Unfortunately it is now out of print and can be difficult to find. If you do find it scoop it up.

Basically the best murder mystery I’ve ever seen. Honestly I think it’s one of the best horror movies ever made. I agree with Tuzo on the music, too. Watch it unrated though.

Excellent article. I tend to like Bird with the Crystal Plummage more.. but Deep Red is better than most gialli.

He may have made better movies, but Deep Red has always been my favorite Argento film. I love the fact that you can spot the killer early on if you look closely. The music is perfect. It’s one of my favorite soundtracks.
