One of the better slashers gone nearly unnoticed. I always loved how it was set on a train too, so claustrophobic. And I’ve never been on a train like that before.

I always liked this one a lot. Kinda slow here and there, but has enough great pieces elsewhere to make up for it. I need to get this one.

Stellar review chris!

There are some horror movies that just make an impact and you wonder for days…why? This is one of them. I really like Terror Train.
This was one of those movies i NEVER got to see as a kid and it wasnt until many many years later, i did.
Sure it’s a pure rip off of halloween only this time on a train.
But there is just something about this film that I really like. Maybe it was the atmosphere? I liked the fact that it WAS on a train and where would you go if there was a killer on board?
It was great seeing jamie lee curtis again but she was so bland.
You could tell she was going through her drug phase because she looks stoned and wacked the whole movie. Not that it matters….it fit that time era perfectly. Anyway…enough of my babbling! Terror train rocks!

Kenny was such an awesome villain and the Groucho Marx costume is one of the creepiest images of any slasher.

I watched Terror Train when I was five. We lived in Northern Saskatchewan on the border of the North West Territories (Canada) in a very small uranium mining town called Uranium City. Apart from my Terror Train memories and feral cat slayings (by an older brother), I also remember the 24 hours of sunlight.

Google the city name to see eerie photos of it today, abandoned and poisoned.

THanks for this backstory Christian. I hadn’t thought until now to search out who the director was. Learning that he was an editor of Peckinpah’s is an awesome revelation.

Well we can agree on this one Christian as this was one of the better slasher movies. Very original and has yet to be duplicated in any way. The movie slowed tremendously towards the middle but had an outstanding showdown with Jaime Lee and the killer. Still love this one.

Great review Chris. Terror train is definately another fave of mine. The way the train is lit..very dim and claustrophobic adds to the terror of being in a small space with nowhere to go to get away from the killer.
