Texas Chainsaw Massacre Doubles Up

September 15 sees release of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE COLLECTION from New Line, a single disc containing both the company’s modern interpretations of Leatherface – THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACE (2003) and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING (2006). It’s double the terror and double the massacre! Unfortunately it’s not double the chainsaw. I remember playing DOOM 64 back in the 90’s where you got a chainsaw with two sawblades – now that was badass. Best. Weapon. Ever. Now, what was I talking about again?

  1. Who else saw all the hints of a Jason and Leatherface crossover in the F13 reboot? From the missing posters in the background, the characters, and even some of the locations they passed by. I fear that there may be a crossover between the Platinum Dunes versions of both iconic characters.

  2. diabolical radio if that were so,wouldnt leatherface be an old man, since f13 is set in 09

  3. But wasn’t Jason himself an old man by the time we got to the later sequels? Still seemed active to me!

  4. just saying since jason is in his 30’s and in good shape in thr reboot, and leatherface has one arm, possibly slower and a crippled leg(im assuming that about his leg since the end of the film)but if like it was set in the late 80’s early 90’s with a middle aged hewwit and late teens to early 20’s voorhees i think that could possibly work, but what i was getting at was tcm was a period piece and friday was set in modern day,so hewwit would be in his 70s or 80s+plus jason was a zombie in the other seaquals that prob gave him and advantage what are ur thoughts christian?

  5. I believe what they are trying to say is that there was way too much TCM placed in the F13 remake. Not to mention, the old cripple that drives the tow truck. It’s what is known as planting the seed. In the old comic Jason vs Leatherface, the Sawyer family, which is now known as the Hewitt family try to make Jason a member of the family since ol Leatherface is getting up in the years. Then chaos ensues. It could easily be put into a film.

    I am a lame.

  7. You know, these two “Remakes” weren’t so bad when I first saw them in the theater, but when I tried watching them on DVD, they both irratated so much I didn’t finish either of them. Part 1 is to “glossy” to be a true TCM film, and the Prequel took too many liberties with the story and R. Lee Ermy was TOO much of a star in that one…felt more like Full Metal Jacket 2.
