Just finished watching The Prey,
and thought it did not look 80′s to me from the clothes and hair styles which Jackson confirmed.I don’t think it’s one of the better slashers from that time, but it was different and is memorable. A big plus was Jackson Bostwick looking really hot, wish he had more screen time or at least took off his shirt. LOL!!

1978? I always thought the film was kind of a “Friday the 13th” knock-off (I like it though). Could it really have been filmed 2 years earlier?

I find a little hard to believe this was made in 1978 as the slasher genre hasn’t even started yet, unless it was filmed immediately right after “Halloween” was a success. Mark was also in another classic, 1973′s THE PSYCHOPATH.

I love The Prey, in fact I proudly own 3 VHS copies of it. I never even tried very hard to look for them, just found them at some old video stores a couple years ago. I’ve heard of an extended version with a longer beginning though but I’ll probably never find it.

If you haven’t seen this masterpiece, I suggest you do so now. Amanda knows that I love this piece of cinematic cheese, as much as she does. This film is not for everyone, and I have always regarded it as a companion pice to Don’t Go In The Woods Alone. Although The Prey is not nearly as tongue in cheek, but they both share all of that wonderful stock footage.
