The cover of The Grim Reaper is absolutely awesome. It’s grimy, cheap, and fabulously 80’s.
But grimy and cheap can backfire. The cover of The Forest honestly communicates how lousy the movie is.
And the Honeymoon Horror cover is kinda good, if a little generic. And I’ve always wondered why the killer has this Michael Myers coif on the cover, since he is revealed in the movie to be completely hairless. Like those cats.
The Forest is definitely not lousy, yes it’s cheesy, but that helps the whole atmosphere. It’s one of the few slashers that effectively combined supernatural elements. IMO, it’s miles better than other cheesy titles that slasher fans hold in high regard(Don’t Go In The Woods, Boardinghouse).
These are wonderful. Where did you find the art for these? I know plenty of sites where they have the front covers, but not the backs.
I haven’t seen Don’t Go in the Woods or Boardinghouse, but what I dislike about The Forest is that it is so clumsy – the editing when the father attacks the lover is ludicrous, for instance. It’s a series of misjudged and ineffective scares that make no sense without the father having the ability to teleport.
I don’t mind cheesy, but what I do mind is when a technically poor film fails entertain. Yes, I found The Forest lousy. No scares, no thrills, no nothing.
But for what it’s worth, there are bad slasher films I enjoy as well – Honeymoon Horror does have some mild thrills, for instance, but on the whole, the flaws are difficult to dismiss.
Nice gallery. I like The Blood Spattered Bride and The Grim Reaper is a great cover even if it is the CUT version of Antropophagus.
Thanks guys, appreciate all your support! You’re all welcome over anytime and all the best to John and everyone at RS!
Oops, wrong thread. My bad. Cool video covers anyway!
I don’t know why, but I am diggin’ the Freddy’s Revenge cover. Although, I like the alternate cover in the US better.
I always thought “The Blood Splattered Bride” ripe for a porn remake of sorts, just based on the title alone, but so far, no dice.
