Altho Body Count isn't first on anyone's list of slasher favorites, I rank it up there in the top ten for it's unique mish-mash of typical, nonsensical, 1980's Italian Horror trappings and the derivative yet welcomed backwoods setting we came to appreciate in the slasher genre. Deodato in general has a great portfolio which demonstrates film genre bending at its finest.
A killer soundtrack from Claudio Simonetti only boosts this rarely seen 'Body Count' (Pun intended) flick into a better tier than it rightfully deserves.
Some of the best examples of bad dubbing and inane dialogue are to be found here...
And folks dont waste your time with the UK DVD, its trimmed by a tad which 'kills' the opening murder set piece, as well as a few others throughout. I proudly ordered the EMS DVD from Germany (Uncut) a few months back, and haven't seen an official copy available anywhere since!
Its the definitive uncut copy, and one of the few reasons I bought a region free player.
I recommend Body Count for all slasher fans. Go into it lightheartedly and you'll definitely enjoy it.
