Here you go guys. Despite the HARDKORE EXTREMENESS Zombie gets slagged for bringing to the HALLOWEEN franchise, I hope you will appreciate the very Carpenter-like shots of Myers in shadow.
I have higher hopes for this one as I feel Rob Zombie had an obligation with the remake to homage as much of John Carpenter’s film as he could get away with, whereas here he’s free to do whatever he wants. I like that they justified the emptiness of the hospital this time round by Michael slaughtering everyone. But once again I find Malcolm McDowell’s Dr. Loomis the weak link here.
I have to say, I really, REALLY like how this is looking. And I agree that Zombie being freed up to explore a more personal vision improves this film’s chances immensely.
Carpenter’s original film is still THE masterpiece….but this looks like it could really hit the spot.
