Lost TCM2 Sequel All American Massacre Back on Track!

Oh shaw, there’s the theatrical Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel on the way called Leatherface 3D, but did you know a direct sequel to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has been sitting on the shelf for a decade?

All American Massacre was a short feature directed by William Hooper (yes, son of Tobe) and starring Bill Mosely reprising his role as ChopTop from the second film. Both a sequel and prequel, it would follow the character in incarceration while flashing back to his younger days as a serial killer.

Back in the late 90′s, this was a big deal! In the wake of Scream, horror fans were threatened with Texas Chainsaw Massacre: TX2000, a glossy anniversary sequel ala Halloween H20. While that project morphed into a TCM1 prequel and then into the unrelated (except by subject matter) Ed Gein starring Steve Railsback, it was All American Massacre that the true fans followed religiously.

Various multimedia was released and a release of some sort intended, possibly a web download, but sadly around 2000 it appeared the people behind it got cold feet over rights and the project faded into the background with its website closing being the nail in the coffin, but for many horror fans, the death of this project was sort of like the dotcom bubble bursting. In the intervening years, Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses managed to successfully throwback to the goofy but horrific antics of TCM2 (with Mosely in the cast, too), so that seemed to quell the pleas for All American Massacre.

For whatever reason be it a change of heart or legal circumstances, All American Massacre is now in post-production! The original website www.allamericanmassacremovie.com has reopened, and additionally a Twitter and Facebook have been set up. Go. Show your support.

They had recently held a Kickstarter fund-raiser to complete post, which I was completely oblivious to until recently, but the time window was so short. They’ve since opened a Paypal donation but have stated it will definitely be completed no matter how much or little they receive, just a little slower. So All American Massacre is coming. Finally.

I’ll be tracking this one closely. Oh yes. In the meantime, check out the wild original trailer…

And when it comes out I hope that they use that cover art, it is sick!
The trailer is great, it gives off a nice feel of paranoia and madness.

  3. Sadly I think this was all for nothing. But I can’t wait to see Bill in LEATHERFACE 3-D.

  4. What do you mean?
Like, it’s not going to actually come out?

  5. Toyland I guess knows more than I do.

  6. the guy that is running the project is a joke, he takes donations like it’s nothing and shows no progress whatsoever. I doubt this movie will ever come out, and I’m afraid it’s a scam.

  7. He had a Kickstarter campaign. But it didn’t reach it’s goal. He didn’t get any money out of it…

  8. there were plenty of paypal donators. I personally know a few.

  9. This guy don’t know his ass from a hole in the ground.
