VHS Forever! Or At Least Through September/October

Like a video player on the fritz, Retro Slashers has been plagued by annoying problems this month, which have tabled our second half of The Basement Big Box Review. In response to this, the team has steadfastly gathered to make a stand for video! The extra discs/movies featured on the set have been split up and are on route to our writers to pick apart in depth.
To this end, Viva VHS has been extended through September and October to cover further format delights. Hopefully we’ll have a Halloween treat or two towards the end of next month.

VIVA VHS!
I grew up with this format, I’ve got tapes older than my girlfriend!
A good VHS copy of a film only available as DVR or in the public domain usually has a better picture quality. The weird thing is, that the much heavier early VHS tapes are much better than the later ones.
Plus the cases, cover art and trailers are in a different league to the photo-shop stuff that still seems to dominate other formats.
One thing I miss are illustrated movie posters/box covers. What, did some research group at universal decide that ‘they just didn’t work with ‘today’s market’ ?’ F#$% modern everything! I’m slowly becoming a horror luddite lol
