Maniac Cop To Be Done Justice On Blu-Ray
Maniac Cop (1988) is the apex of slasher-hybrids, defining the fine-line criteria by flawlessly combining the slasher film and the action film while being comfortable sitting on the video store shelves of either.
That is, if video stores still existed in every neighborhood. Nowadays… the kids and their HD home systems… Well suck on this cold damn truth, kiddies: If there’s any face besides Tom Atkins that deserves to be seen in high-definition, it’s Robert Z’Dar – and this movie has both of ‘em!
Here’s the skinny:
British distributors Arrow Video have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of William Lustig’s cult film Maniac Cop (1988), starring Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead), Tom Atkins (The Fog), and Laurene Landon (Hundra).
The exact street date and technical specs for this release are unknown at the moment.
However, Arrow Video have confirmed that it will be Region-Free.
