New DVD Label: RHR Home Video

Here’s the full trailer to the Retro Slashers-produced movie Terror at Black Tree Forest. A homage to the sackheady goodness of The Town That Dreaded Sundown and Friday The 13th Part 2, the flick was directed by Dustin Ferguson who is launching RHR Home Video – a new DVD label to distribute already-completed and upcoming original productions as well as a few schlocker oldies.

Do let me know what you thought of the Black Tree Forest trailer. The movie is already set to be sequelized in a few months – I’m not going to be part of that but wish them well. Escape to Black Tree Forest has signed 80′s scream queens Linnea Quigley and Brinke Stevens for cast.

Here are some of the first original releases slated for RHR Home Video:

TERROR AT BLACK TREE FOREST (2010)
A young mother is brutally murdered in front of her own child in the woods during the Summer of 1970. Twenty years later a group of college friends head off to the same woods – “Black Tree Forest” to do some hiking and camping. However, Brian Mellows, the young child who was left scarred twenty years ago, has recently escaped from the Vestron Hospital for the Criminally Insane. The young campers out for a fun-filled weekend end up in the fight for their lives as they encounter a mysterious masked Killer who stalks the forest in search of innocent victims. They play a terrifying game of “cat and mouse” with the Killer…until it is time for the last Terror at Black Tree Forest!

THE LEGACY OF BOGGY CREEK (2011)
Since 1972 he has roamed the countryside, watching…and waiting! He has been sighted several times over the last few decades and this all-new docudrama chronicles the events that began after the original Fauke, Arkansas attacks. Originally released locally as “The Skunkape Story”, this newly re-edited version is now a direct sequel to the original classic “The Legend of Boggy Creek”.

SILLY SCARIES (2011)
An all-new comedy/horror anthology film in the vein of “Creepshow” and “Tales From The Crypt”. Includes three tales: “Manna For The Damned”, “Treehuggers” and “Dead Ending”, as viewed by five monsters with nothing better to do on a Saturday night.

Future original releases include Dream Awake’s The Wanted (a cool The Strangers riff if the trailer is any indication) and Cooking With Linnea, a follow-up to Linnea Quigley’s Horror Workout.

  3. This is kick ass! Good luck with the label!!

  4. A nicely done bit of eyeball damage in the trailer. Good luck with the label.

  5. Not bad at all that trailer for Terror at Black Tree Forest (out of the three films featured in the article this is the one which interest me the most). Have become more interested in fan made short films and feature length films in recent years.

Have checked out Retroslashers in the past few weeks, and it’s one which I’ll be recommending to people. What I like the most about the logo is the original Prom Night mention.
