The original Friday the 13th will always be my favorite. A close second is part 3 when watching it in 3-D.
the original for sure.
part 2 hands down. Loved the sack.
Friday the !3th The Final Chapter is my favorite, great cast!!!!
Part 6. It has a huge body-count. Jason is an honest to god zombie and the hokey mask is at it’s most iconic.
The original every time.
Part 6 is my favorite. Its the first Friday the 13th to have a supernatural aspect. Plus very funny.
My personal favorite is part V. It’s the first one I watched and I did it alone. When I was 10 years old I was left home alone and decided to sneak into my father’s VHS collection. I found a tape with Friday New Begining typed on it and watched having no idea what it was. After I scared myself to death I put it back and hoped I wouldn’t giove myself away that night. I did. My father would send me to the mailbox every night, you see. That night, for the first time, I was too scared to go and was forced to admit I put my hands on his personal belongings. He had mercy and I slept in bed for the next few nights. Once I even pissed in it.
Definetely part 7..I still remember renting the vhs for the first time and being so excited to get home to watch it
My favorites are the first 4 films, especially 1 and 4. The gore effects by Tom Savini in those films are wonderful. I started watching these films at age 12 and haven’t stopped
Part 4! Thought it’s a hard choice. The first 5 are by far my favorites.
I’m gonna say part 2 and 3 as the whole burlap sack mask was more scary than the sports counterpart
Gotta go with the Final Chapter. Great cast, special effects and awkward dance moves.
Jason Lives, with The Final Chapter a close second.
Part 3. The characters are unforgettable and Jason receives his legendary mask here. Chris and Shelly are great in their respective roles.
Part 4
It has some of the best F/X work Tom Savini has ever done.
I LOVE IT!!
Part 6. Undead Jason with a piece of fence through his chest and maggots dropping down onto his shoes from behind the mask gets me, every time.
Part 2′s the best, but not by much over the original. My order is 2, 1, 3, 4, 10, 11(FvJ), 12(remake), 6, 9, 5, 8, 7
part 3 – it has it’s own “feel”, there is the memorable Shelly character, the introduction of the mask, and Jason truly became his own character in that film.
Part 3. I just like the characters better.
my favorite has to be part 5,sleazy cheesey fun!
Man,This is a hard choice. I like Parts 1-4 &6 pretty equally, but if I had to pick just one I’d have to say The Final Chapter good cast, special effects and directing.
Hey guys…I grew up on these movies…love all of them except A New Beginning due to the lame story and ending…I suppose Part One for the origin story and the genuine thrills and scares…and my man Savini was involved with the special effects. I also love to double feature Part Two with The Burning…campfire tales are the best!
Easily part 6. I remember in the late 80′s sneaking downstairs when my dad would go to work at like 5 am and turning on the tv in hopes to catch a horror movie. Well one morning it was just my luck and Jason Lives was on and at the tender age of like 4 that is when my lifelong obsession with this franchise began. Now at the age of 27 I can finally say that due to these movies I have never nor will I ever lose an interest in horror! The image of Sissy getting her head ripped off always stuck with me and has always been one of my favorite deaths.
I loved Jason goes to Hell….its probably the one i’ve watched the most…good gore(KNB Rocks!!!)and great ending!..
Part 7 : The New Blood.
I love all of the movies but my favorite of all is Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. I remember sneaking into the theater as a kid and seeing it numerous times. We would pay for a PG movie and then go into the theater where it was playing.
I would have to say part 6: Jason lives. Loved the Final Chapter too, but have to go with Jason Lives.
Part 4 The Final Chapter
My favorite Friday the 13th would have to be Friday the 13th part 4 The Final Chapter. It had a lot of great and memorable characters. We were first introduced to Tommy Jarvis and his family. We were told by Rob that he was tracking Jason Voorhees, because Jason murdered his sister Sandra from part 2. Crispin Glover showed some pretty awesome dance moves. Corey Feldman made himself up as younger Jason and then killed him, driving the machete into his eye socket and Jason slid down the machete. The makeup effects by Tom Savini were great.
I have to go with the original. While I enjoy all of the films this one is the film that springs to mind when someone mentions the series. There is a mystery angle to it that’s largely absent from the others ,the cast is likeble and Savini’s effects still hold up.Add to that the memorable score and a classic turn by Betsy Palmer and you’ve got a winner.
Friday the 13th part 2. it was shot very well and had a great cast. the death scenes were excellent. If there is a movie that i pull out of collection more than once a year, it is Friday the 13th part 2
I would have to say Pt 2. Definitely the creepiest.
Part III … Like someone else pointed out, because it introduces … THE MASK!
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is the best by a long shot. I will always be a big fan of rock ‘n’ roll, and the fact that the entire soundtrack is by none other than Alice Cooper is incredible. I must have listened to “He’s back (The Man Behind the Mask)” at least forty or fifty times since I saw it, and it never grows old. C.J. Graham isn’t as awesome as Kane Hodder, but I felt he got the job done very well. The humor was really funny, and it broke the fourth wall more than once. The atmosphere is great, the gore is great, the ending is great, and even the subtle humor is great. Everything in it just WORKED.
Friday the 13th part VII is my favorite. Jason is pissed in that one and I love it. I like when he kills the girl in the barn and when he kills the doctor in the woods with the branch cutter. CLASSIC!
Friday the 13th the Final Chapter is my absolute favorite. I actually got the chance to catch it at a theater here too a couple of years ago and even though I own the DVDs I couldn’t pass up seeing my favorite one on the big screen and it was a blast to watch with the audience. Parts 2, 3 and 7 are also amongst my favorites, but 4 will always be the best IMO.
Part 2! Scary as hell and full of tension and great jump scares!
hmm……i gotta say the original, but i do also enjoy part 4. especially that awesome artwork…enough to get it permanently inked onto my body (along with other slasher villians, etc)
Part 3. Loved the location they used and how they took full advantage of it. Memorable characters, spooky atmosphere, and the best chase sequence in the entire series. Something about the ‘final girl’ idea still makes it a favorite with me. Plus Dana Kimmell was the most attractive heroine.
Part 7 was pretty good. Enjoyed the telekinesis angle and how there was also a sub-plot of Dr. Kruse wanting to exploit Tina’s powers and Jason was just sort of there in the middle of it. Plus Jason looks the best here. Awesome job from the makeup people by showing Jason’s damage from previous films.
Part 4 because it features Crispin Glover!
The original one for sure, it was the first one I saw, and one of the first slashers I’ve seen. Loved it!
Part 6 The New Blood would have to be my favorite. There’s so many cool effects here, great make-up and fun characters, not to mention Jason running around sans mask for a great portion of time at the end. It’s only downfall is it being cut greatly. Apart from that though, this is a fun and enjoyable entry in the franchise with the coolest looking Jason to date.
If an uncut director’s cut came out I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
Part 4!!!
The most brutal kills and Jason sliding down a machete, cool stuff.
Plus Crispin Glover!
Part IV: The Final Chapter! Corey Feldman is always a good time.
Friday the 13th- The Final Chapter has always been the ultimate Friday film for me. followed very closely by Part II.
My personal favourite is Part IV – The Final Chapter. For me, it is the most complete of all the Friday movies and has that ‘old school’ feel that only the first four truly had. Loads of suspense, great kills, an imposing Jason – the best of the lot.
Friday the 13th The Final Chapter was the best in My Humble Opinion. Awesome Kills Etc Etc Monkey Tron said it all before me LOL Jason losing half his skull was priceless
Right now i’d say Part 4……………………KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.
nzhorrorfan and unrealbe are the random winners – thanks for playing!
